Content Review, Restriction, and Removal Procedures

# Takedown and Content Review Policy

## Effective Date

April 1, 2026

---

# 1. Introduction

Formalcy is designed as a platform for accountable public statements issued under verified identities and preserved within a continuous record.

At the same time, the Platform recognises that certain content may require review, restriction, withdrawal from public access, or legal compliance action under applicable law.

This Takedown and Content Review Policy describes:

* the circumstances under which content may be reviewed, * the process for submitting complaints or requests, * and the actions the Platform may take in response.

---

# 2. Nature of the Platform

Formalcy functions as a structured platform for attributable public statements.

Statements published by users:

* represent the views of the respective authors, * do not automatically represent the views of the Platform, * and remain the responsibility of the users issuing them.

The Platform does not ordinarily pre-screen every statement before publication.

---

# 3. Grounds for Review or Takedown

Content may be reviewed or subjected to restriction where it appears to involve:

* impersonation, * identity fraud, * unlawful content, * forged or misleading verification, * defamation claims, * threats of violence, * harassment, * unlawful disclosure of sensitive personal information, * court-restricted material, * intellectual property violations, * fraudulent activity, * malicious misuse of the verification system, * or violations of applicable law.

The Platform may also review content where necessary for:

* compliance with legal obligations, * preservation of platform integrity, * or prevention of misuse.

---

# 4. Difference Between Withdrawal and Takedown

## Withdrawal by User

Users may voluntarily withdraw their own statements in accordance with platform functionality.

In such cases:

* the statement may remain visible, * and may be marked as “Withdrawn”.

Withdrawal does not ordinarily remove the historical existence of the statement from the platform record.

---

## Takedown by Platform

A takedown or restriction action initiated by the Platform is separate from user withdrawal.

Depending on circumstances, the Platform may:

* temporarily restrict visibility, * disable access, * mark content under review, * limit jurisdictional visibility, * suspend associated accounts, * or remove access where legally necessary.

---

# 5. Filing a Takedown or Review Request

Requests may be submitted by:

* affected individuals, * legal representatives, * authorised organisations, * governmental authorities, * or competent legal bodies.

Requests should include:

* URL or identifier of the statement, * description of the concern, * basis of objection, * supporting material where applicable, * and contact details of the complainant.

---

# 6. Submission Channel

Requests may be sent to:

Email: [su@formalcy.com](mailto:su@formalcy.com)

Subject line should preferably indicate:

* “Takedown Request” * “Content Review Request” * or “Legal Compliance Request”

---

# 7. Review Process

Upon receiving a request, the Platform may:

* acknowledge receipt, * conduct preliminary review, * seek clarification, * notify affected users where appropriate, * obtain legal review if necessary, * and determine interim or final action.

The Platform may act without prior notice where:

* immediate harm is alleged, * legal obligations require urgent action, * or platform integrity is at risk.

---

# 8. Preservation of Records

Even where visibility is restricted or content is removed from public access, the Platform may preserve:

* internal records, * audit trails, * verification history, * timestamps, * and associated metadata

for purposes including:

* legal compliance, * dispute resolution, * investigation, * and platform integrity.

---

# 9. Jurisdiction and Legal Compliance

The Platform may comply with:

* court orders, * governmental directions, * lawful requests under applicable law, * and regulatory obligations.

The Platform reserves the right to restrict or disable access to content where required by law.

---

# 10. False or Malicious Complaints

Submitting knowingly false, misleading, abusive, or malicious takedown requests may itself constitute misuse of the Platform.

The Platform reserves the right to:

* reject such requests, * preserve records of abuse, * and take appropriate administrative or legal measures.

---

# 11. Platform Discretion

Formalcy reserves the right to:

* review content, * investigate misuse, * restrict platform access, * suspend verification status, * or take reasonable moderation actions

where necessary to preserve:

* platform integrity, * user safety, * accountability systems, * or legal compliance.

---

# 12. Limitation of Platform Role

The Platform is not a court of law and does not independently adjudicate all factual disputes between users.

Review decisions may be based on:

* available records, * apparent policy violations, * legal obligations, * risk considerations, * and platform integrity concerns.

---

# 13. Policy Updates

This Policy may be updated periodically to reflect:

* legal developments, * operational changes, * or evolving platform requirements.

Updated versions may be published on the Platform.

---

# 14. Final Note

Formalcy is designed to preserve accountability and continuity in public expression while maintaining mechanisms for lawful review and responsible moderation.

Users are encouraged to exercise care, accuracy, and responsibility while issuing statements on the Platform.
